Chairman Walden’s Statement on Congressman Buck McKeon’s Retirement Announcement

WASHINGTON – National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden released the following statement today on Rep. Buck McKeon’s retirement announcement:

“America’s armed forces have no greater friend than Buck McKeon. For years as Chairman of the House Armed Services committee, he’s ensured our troops have the resources to keep us safe and preserve our freedom. His accomplishments don’t stop there though, Buck is a leading advocate for reforming our education system as well.

“America is a safer and stronger place—both at home and abroad—because of Buck McKeon’s leadership. I wish him, his wife, his 6 kids, and his 31 grandchildren well in the years ahead.

“Although the United States House of Representatives is losing a champion, I am confident that California families will elect a Republican leader who will serve with the same dedication as Buck.”
