It’s January and Some Democrats Are Already Talking Of Conceding The House Majority To Republicans
Well, that was quick.
Politico reported last night that Washington Democrats are apparently so panicked they’re already thinking of conceding the House to Republicans in 2014. ObamaCare and the president’s falling popularity has become such a burden on Democrats, they’re seriously considering marshaling all of their resources into hanging on to their majority in the Senate.
Here’s the money line from Alex Isenstadt:
“Making up their 17-seat deficit in the House, on the other hand, looks like a nonstarter for Democrats; it would not be surprising, some pundits say, for Republicans to expand their House majority.”
Remember, just yesterday DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz–one of the leaders of the party–wouldn’t “confidently predict” they’d win the House.
She’s not the only one. It’s gotten so bad, the man charged with winning back the House is also changing his tune.
Last year, DCCC Chairman Steve Israel believed Democrats had a good chance at taking back the House. Now, he won’t commit.
That must make Democrats running across the country feel just wonderful…
Even with President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and millions in special interest cash, there’s a very good chance we can actually grow our majority this November. It shows just how tired Americans are complete liberal control of Washington. We need to make sure that the days of passing bills like the stimulus, ObamaCare, and cap-and-trade (in the House) are behind us.
But we cannot let up. Even if some Democrat leaders don’t believe they can take back the House, Nancy Pelosi and President Obama are hungry for power. Stand with us today and fight back. Republicans in the House are the last line of defense.
