With ObamaCare Under Pressure, White House Delays Law For Businesses Again

Déjà vu All Over Again

 

  • Yet again, The White House is unilaterally delaying part of the employer mandate for businesses.

  • It’s not just businesses that need relief from the onerous regulations of this failed law, but families across the country too.

  • If the president insists on unilaterally rewriting his own law then maybe it’s time to pick up that pen he’s been talking so much about and give some basic fairness to America’s families.

  • Across the country, Democrats running in November will have to answer for this disastrous law. Not only is it canceling plans and raising premiums, it’s now picking winners and losers.

 

NEW OBAMACARE DELAY

 

Yesterday, The White House Delayed Part Of The Employer Mandate Again. “The Obama administration Monday delayed part of the Obamacare employer mandate in 2015 and beyond, the latest move to counter a torrent of criticism from the business community about the health law’s impact on employers. Treasury Department said businesses with fewer than 100 workers would not be required to provide health care to its workers in 2015 or face a fine.” (Brett Norman and David Nather, “Obamacare Delay Sparks New Mandate Fight,” Politico, 2/10/14)

In July 2013, The Obama Administration Delayed ObamaCare’s Employer Mandate Until 2015. “The Obama administration will delay a crucial provision of its signature health-care law, giving businesses an extra year to comply with a requirement that they provide their workers with insurance. The government will postpone enforcement of the so-called employer mandate until 2015, after the congressional elections, the administration said yesterday. President Obama Bragged That He Will Use “A Pen” And “A Phone” To Fulfill Some Of His Policy Objectives. “‘I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone,’ he said at his first Cabinet meeting of the year. Outlining the strategy, Obama said he plans to use his pen to sign executive actions and his phone to convene outside groups in support of his agenda if Congress proves unable or unwilling to act on his priorities.” (Jennifer Epstein, “Obama points to 2014’s pen-and-phone strategy,” Politico, 1/14/14)

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer On ObamaCare: “Every Month It’s Going To Get Better.” “House Republicans have made running against Obamacare the centerpiece of their midterm election strategy, but Hoyer said confidently “every month it’s going to get better” and said the new health care law “is going to be a positive, not a negative” in the November election.” (Deirdre Walsh, “Hoyer Predicts Democrats Positioned To Win Back The House In 2014,” CNN, 2/10/14)
