The Democrat Congressional Candidate Who Wants to End Medicare Advantage for 1 Million New York Seniors

April 30, 2014

I guess now we know why Democrat Congressional Candidate Martha Robertson always uses notes for public appearances. It’s so she can avoid saying what’s on her mind – like when she (without notes) dismissed Obamacare’s $700 billion cut to Medicare because the cuts were only “out of Medicare advantage” which she then proceeded to trash. Check out the video here.

Well Martha, here are some numbers on Medicare Advantage. Over 1.148 million people are enrolled in Medicare Advantage in New York – that amounts to 34% of all Medicare beneficiaries in the state. And those cuts that seem like no big deal to you amounts to $2,804.34 per senior in New York.

Need more Martha? How about the fact that 14 million people are enrolled nationwide, 1 in 5 minorities are enrolled, and 41% of enrollees have incomes of $20,000 or less.

NRCC Comment: “Ithaca liberal Martha Robertson wants to end Medicare as over 1 million New Yorker seniors know it by gutting Medicare Advantage and forcing those seniors off a health care plan that they depend on and that they like. The fact that Robertson wants to see this popular program wither on the vine and die shows just how much of an out-of-touch extremist she really is.” – NRCC Spokesman Ian Prior
