NRCC Paid Web Ad Highlights Ruiz’s Budget Hypocrisy
Entitled “Meet Raul Ruiz,” the Ad Attacks Ruiz for his Failure to Pass a Budget
WASHINGTON –The National Republican Congressional Committee today released a paid web ad highlighting Raul Ruiz’s budget hypocrisy. Ruiz told California families he supported “No Budget, No Pay,” meaning that if Congress didn’t pass a budget, he wouldn’t receive his taxpayer-funded $174,000 per year salary. However, the California Democrat kept his paycheck while voting against a budget that balances within ten years.
“Raul Ruiz continues to betray the trust of California families as he keeps his taxpayer-funded salary,” said NRCC Communications Director Andrea Bozek. “Californians deserve real leadership and a balanced budget. Raul Ruiz has failed to deliver on both.”
“Meet Raul Ruiz” can be seen here:
VOICEOVER: Raul Ruiz claims he believes that Members of Congress shouldn’t get paid if they fail to pass a budget.
VOICEOVER: But Ruiz failed to support a single budget last spring and this year – a total of 12 different budgets. He even voted against a budget that balances within 10 years.
VOICEOVER: Raul Ruiz should keep his promise to our community and forfeit his $174,000 a year taxpayer-funded salary for failing to do his job.
VOICEOVER: Call Raul Ruiz and tell him to stop breaking promises and give back his taxpayer-funded salary.
