Meet The 100-Year-Old World War Two Veteran Who Just Graduated From High School
George Hulka Jr. fought the Nazis in Northern France during World War Two. He even survived the D-Day Invasion at Normandy, and won a Bronze Star for his service during the war.
Now, he’s adding one more accomplishment to his impressive resume: graduating high school.
The “Greatest Generation” of American heroes never stops impressing us.
From Mental Recession:
Hulka took part in a program called “Operation Recognition,” a statewide program that allows school districts to issue diplomas to veterans who lived in the state and attended New York schools but weren’t able to finish their education. He will take part in a graduation ceremony scheduled for this Saturday.
Hulka attended school until the 8th grade – the last grade offered at that time in his district.
Graduating alongside the 100-year-old will be a special student. Hulka will be sharing the stage with his 19-year-old great-grandson who is a member of Schuylerville’s Class of 2014.
