Diners, Dives and Disappointment
With President Obama returning from his vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, Americans are still asking: Where are the jobs? Our veterans are suffering from this administration’s failures. There’s the crisis on our border. And America is growing weaker abroad.
But the president seems more interested in playing pool, drinking beers and grabbing burgers. So it’s no surprise a majority of Americans now view President Obama and his administration as incompetent.
With the president dragging down Democrat incumbents coast-to-coast, he might want to visit some of their districts. And since he’s not interested in dealing with any real issues – he could even visit some diners and dives along the way.
President Obama and these Democrat incumbents might just learn how disappointed the American people are.
New York’s 21st Congressional District
New York’s North Country
Democrat: Aaron Woolf
The Dish: Aaron Woolf is a Manhattan multimillionaire filmmaker who has never met a positon on an issue that he was willing to take. Woolf’s sole tie to upstate New York is a summer home there which is about as strong a connection as he has to the island of Mauritius, where the Woolfs take advantage of their status as a tax haven to avoid U.S. taxes.
What’s on tap: Since Aaron Woolf wants North Country families to pay more for food, the best place to go is Woolf’s organic grocery store and restaurant in Brooklyn. The President should bring plenty of Raid, however, because Woolf’s food businesses are notorious for the presence of roaches, mice, and filth flies. Woolf can also take the President to Glens Falls and Watertown, to major areas of the district with which Woolf has admitted he isn’t very familiar.
New York’s 1st Congressional District
The East End of Long Island
Democrat: Tim Bishop
The Dish: Tim Bishop likes to call himself “The Mailman.” That’s because he delivers – if you happen to be able to donate 10 grand to his campaign. Bishop is also a strong supporter of Obamacare, and still has Obama’s “Lie of the Year” proudly posted on his official website.
What’s on tap: President Obama should expect to keep a low profile when hanging out with Bishop. After the FBI investigated his shady fundraising practices, Bishop is probably going to have to keep things low key. Perhaps a picnic on the beach with some fireworks and a few supporters who are willing to donate to Bishop for some face time with the President.
New York’s 18th Congressional District
Orange County and Putnam County, as well as parts of southern Dutchess County and northeastern Westchester County.
Democrat: Sean Patrick Maloney
The Dish: Sean Patrick Maloney is the kind of Congressman who thinks the rules don’t apply to him. Sitting on the Aviation Subcommittee in Congress, Maloney is tasked with overseeing the Federal Aviation Administration. Despite that position, Maloney blatantly and knowingly violated the FAA’s ban on commercial drone use. Instead of simply apologizing, Maloney has refused to acknowledge the mistake and why it’s so concerning to voters that their Congressman gets to live by a different set of rules.
What’s on tap: Drones, drones and more drones. Maloney and Obama can hang out in Maloney’s multimillion dollar home fly some drones and talk all how both of them are willing to ignore the laws of the land to get done what they want to get done.
New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District
Greater Manchester, the Seacoast and the Lakes Region
Democrat: Carol Shea-Porter
The Dish: Carol Shea-Porter is one of President Obama’s biggest supporters in Congress, proudly boasting about how she is a rubber stamp for Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Because of that, she finds herself trailing in the polls and on the edge of losing her seat because of the President just like she did in 2010.
What’s on tap: New Hampshire would be a great place for Shea-Porter and Obama to learn about just how unpopular Obamacare really is. The two can travel the district talking to families who no longer have access to their doctors and hospitals of choice. Then the pair can have fun at a local diner as Shea-Porter explains why she voted against No Budget, No Pay – a bill to prevent members of Congress from getting paid if they don’t pass a budget. It will be especially fun to watch Shea-Porter blame the bill on Republicans, especially since Obama himself signed it into law.
Thanks for your support. See you next time on Diner, Dives and Disappointment!
