NY-21 Candidate Elise Stefanik to Deliver the Weekly Republican Address

October 2, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has selected NY-21 candidate Elise Stefanik to deliver the Weekly Republican Address on Saturday, October 4.  Stefanik is running to replace retiring Rep. Bill Owens (D) and, if elected, would become the youngest woman serving in Congress.  Her address will focus on jobs, the economy, and her campaign for the hardworking families of New York’s North Country.

“Traveling the northeast last week I heard from families and small businesses who, like all Americans, are tired of asking ‘where are the jobs?’” Speaker Boehner said.  “Elise Stefanik knows that President Obama’s Big Government agenda isn’t working in New York’s North Country, and she’ll bring new ideas to our fight for positive reforms to help create jobs and expand opportunities for every American.  I’m glad she’s delivering this week’s address.”

“Growing up in a small business family, I know how higher taxes and overregulation can destroy jobs and growth,” Stefanik said. “I’m running for office because North Country families need a Representative who will fight for their priorities.  My generation can’t just complain about problems in this difficult economy.  We have to help solve them as well.”

Elise Stefanik was born and raised in Upstate New York and has a deep passion for public service.  Having grown up in a small business family, Stefanik learned, lived, and understands the values of hard work that go hand in hand with building and operating the small businesses that drive America’s economy.

The text and the audio of the Weekly Republican Address will be released Friday afternoon and embargoed until Saturday, October 4 at 6:00 a.m. ET, when it will be available on TeamBoehner.com and NRCC.org to view and download.
