NRCC Chairman Greg Walden Announces 2016 Deputy
WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee released the following statement from Chairman Greg Walden on the selection of his senior leadership team, Reps. Ann Wagner (MO-02), Richard Hudson (NC-08), and Steve Stivers (OH-15).
“I am pleased to announce Ann Wagner, Richard Hudson, and Steve Stivers will be serving as Deputy Chairs at the NRCC for the 2016 cycle,” said NRCC Chairman Greg Walden. “Reps. Wagner, Hudson, and Stivers have shown exceptional leadership and have been crucial in helping to grow our House majority to a historic level. Together, we will be able to maintain and gain our Republican majority as we look to the 2016 election.”
“It has been a pleasure working alongside former Deputy Chairman Lynn Westmoreland during the 2014 cycle. Lynn has decided to focus on his critically important role on the Intelligence Committee and his role on the Benghazi Select Committee. I know he will still be an integral part of our building and look forward to seeing his great work in Congress.”
Finance Chairman Ann Wagner: Wagner is beginning her second term in the House and will be assisting the NRCC as the Chairman of the Finance Department. During the 2014 election cycle, the NRCC not only had twice the number of donors but also built an online infrastructure that raised 400% more in the 2014 cycle vs the 2012 cycle.
Recruitment Chairman Richard Hudson: Hudson will be with the NRCC as the Chairman of the committee’s recruitment efforts. In the 2014 cycle, the NRCC recruited quality candidates that fit their districts and many of them will now be part of the 114th Congress. With Hudson heading up our recruitment efforts in the 2016 cycle the NRCC will be able to further build upon its successes with candidates that can and will win.
Patriot Program Chairman Steve Stivers: Stivers will begin his third term in the House and will be working with the NRCC as the Chairman of the Patriot Program, which focuses on assisting Republican incumbents facing re-election in competitive districts across the country. The NRCC named 20 members to our Patriot program in the 2014 cycle. Democrats targeted them early, but the committee enlisted the full power of our organization to highlight their successful record in Congress. Stivers will continue these efforts to strengthen the historic Republican majority gained in 2014.
