Former Lt. Governor Sheila Simon recently indicated that she was interested in teaching political science courses at SIU – that is unless she decides to run for Congress. Based on her time in the Quinn administration, below is a list of suggested classes for which Simon’s personal experience would make her the perfect professor:
- Liberal Economics: Taxes, red tape, and deficits
- Ethics: Patronage and political clout
- Finance: How NOT to build a budget
- Modern History: 21st Century Failed Governors
- Political Science: Political appointments vs running campaigns
