Collin Peterson vs. Farm Bureau – Round 2
In less than 24 hours, Collin Peterson has split with the Farm Bureau on two high profile votes (Tuesday, Wednesday), leaving Minnesota farmers out to dry while Peterson stands with liberal special interests.
Most recently, Peterson opposed repealing country of original labeling (COOL), which, if left in place, would open up US markets to billions in retaliatory tariffs from other countries.
One study estimated that Minnesota would face $533 million in tariffs if Collin Peterson had his way, hitting agriculture especially hard.
Peterson has long touted his record on agriculture issues, and these high profile splits from the Farm Bureau and many other agriculture groups reveal just how blindingly out of touch Peterson has become during more than 20 years in Washington.
