Why does Steve Israel want to ease security on terrorists?

June 11, 2015

israelIt’s official: After seven terms in Congress, Steve Israel’s career has officially jumped the shark.  Last night he voted three different times to bring known terrorists from Guantanamo Bay back onto U.S. soil, back to their country of origin, or flat-out release them.  This is the sixth time (votes listed below the quote) in four weeks that Israel has voted in this reckless manner.

At this point in Israel’s 14 year career in Congress, it’s obvious that he’s more concerned with being accepted by the Washington, D.C. Democratic establishment than he is with voting the way his New York constituents would want him to vote.  For that, shame on him.

NRCC Comment: “Steve Israel has been in Washington for so long that he’s lost sight of the issues important to his district.  Steve Israel should be voting to protect his New York constituents from terrorists looking to do them harm instead of voting to win the support of the Washington, D.C. Democratic establishment.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
