Lon Johnson and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Campaign Launch
To put it nicely, Detroit’s Lon Johnson has had an abysmal start to his campaign against Dr. Dan in Northern Michigan. It’s been like a campaign adaptation of Judith Viorst’s award-winning Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
First, Detroit News columnist Nolan Finley wrote on how Johnson, in his run for Chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, was “touted as a superior organizer with a genius for turning election data into Democratic votes” who “never lived up to his hype.” Then MLive reported on how Johnson’s “personal gambit” of running for Congress is “no sure bet” because “Johnson isn’t necessarily the kind of rugged individualist that Yoopers and Northern Michiganders tend to rally behind.”
Wait…hold up! Yoopers and Northern Michiganders don’t rally behind a pro-choice carpetbagger from Detroit who is Michigan’s biggest supporter of Barack Obama? You don’t say!
