Will Elizabeth Esty vote against funding terrorists tomorrow?

February 1, 2016

estyLast September, Elizabeth Esty voted to lift economic sanctions on Iran as part of Barack Obama’s nuclear deal.  Since that vote, Secretary of State John Kerry has admitted that the eased sanctions that Esty supported will lead to funding for terrorist organizations.

This puts Esty in quite the predicament tomorrow when the House will vote to restrict the President from lifting these sanctions.  Will Esty double down on her support of the president’s dangerous plan that provides funding to terrorist organizations or will she have a mea culpa moment by instead voting to keep her constituents safe?

Decisions, decisions…

NRCC Comment: “Last September Elizabeth Esty voted with the President to lift sanctions on Iran that our Secretary of State now admits will fund terrorist organizations.  Will Esty double down on her support of the President’s dangerous plan tomorrow or will she have a mea culpa moment where she realizes that protecting her constituents is more important than playing nice with President Obama?” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
