SHOCKER: Lonnie Johnson is in DC today and not in MI-01

Detroit resident and MI-01 candidate Lonnie Johnson was caught hobnobbing today in Washington, DC and was asked about his plan to replace the jobs that will be destroyed if he gets his way and the Line 5 Pipeline is shut down.  Lonnie didn’t have an answer and quickly snuck into a government office building to avoid having to actually offer a plan.

Of course, that didn’t stop Lonnie from tweeting about wanting to shut down the Line 5 Pipeline minutes later.  And what is it with Lonnie using Twitter to dupe voters into thinking he is actually in Northern Michigan anyways?  And what exactly is it about Northern Michigan that Lonnie dislikes so much that he would go to such great lengths to avoid it?

NRCC Comment:  “Can someone tell Lon Johnson that it is safe to travel to Northern Michigan and he should probably get within 300 miles of the district he wants to represent in Congress?  It’s clear that Lon Johnson is trying to use the people of MI-01 to buy himself a seat in Congress but they’re too smart for his shenanigans.”  –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
