Do Dingell and Lawrence still stand by Melissa Gilbert?

Three weeks ago Debbie Dingell and Brenda Lawrence hosted a $500-per-person fundraiser for Melissa Gilbert, whose past support of child rapist Roman Polanski came to light earlier this week.  Does Dingell and Lawrence regret hosting this fundraiser now that it’s been revealed that Gilbert once said on national television that sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl is a “gray area when Momma is in the building”?

There is no excuse that Melissa Gilbert can give to justify her defense a 40-year-old movie director who drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl.  And there is no excuse that Dingell and Lawrence can give to justify their continued support of Melissa Gilbert given her sickening candid opinions on child rape.
