Did LuAnn Bennett lie to The Washington Post’s Rachel Weiner?  When Bennett announced her VA-10 campaign last year, she told Weiner that she was renting out her penthouse at the DC Ritz-Carlton.

But according to Bennett’s financial disclosure report filed with the House Ethics Committee, Bennett did not receive any rental income last year for renting out her penthouse.

So either Bennett lied to Rachel Weiner at The Washington Post, or she lied on her financial disclosure report.  Since the penalty for lying on your financial disclosure report is a year in prison and a $50,000 fine, the safe bet is that Bennett lied to The Washington Post.

So what’s the penalty for that?
