Pre-debate fact check in PA-08

August 30, 2016

steve santarsieroWith the first PA-08 debate between former FBI special agent Brian Fitzpatrick and Harrisburg politician Steve Santarsiero set to begin at noon on WBCB 1490, we just wanted to do a quick little fact check before Steve Santarsiero begins spewing his lies about important issues.

Slippery Steve’s failed record as a Harrisburg politician – Santarsiero hasn’t had a single bill signed into law in his more than 7 years in the PA House.

Slippery Steve has lived in the district for far less of a period of time than his opponent Santarsiero likes to call former FBI agent Brian Fitzpatrick a carpetbagger because of his time stationed in California while Fitzpatrick battled political corruption and terrorism in the FBI.  Fitzpatrick, who is 42 years old, has lived in PA-08 for 37 years.

Slippery Steve’s habit of lying – Santarsiero was caught lying by an independent fact check organization for taking credit for passing bills he never actually passed.

Slippery Steve’s record of missing education funding votes – Santarsiero missed votes to fund public education because he was down in DC campaigning for Congress. He was also literally booed off the House floor for skipping a vote on a bill that overwhelming passed the House to provide millions in additional education funding because Tom Wolf opposed it.

NRCC Comment: “Steve Santarsiero is a do-nothing Harrisburg politician who has spent more time lying about his failed record than actually delivering results for his constituents.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
