Rick Nolan’s Super PAC allies reusing discredited attack to mislead MN-08 voters
Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC, House Majority PAC, just doesn’t learn their lesson. Earlier this year, their first ad in MN-08 was pulled from the air, due to their use of a spliced together clip that they deceptively edited in an effort to mislead voters. Now, they’re back, and they’re using the same deceptively edited clip in their new TV ad.
In fact, this is the third time House Majority PAC has used this discredited clip. In 2014, a similar clip was pulled from the air by Minnesota TV stations, after being called out by fact checkers at Minnesota Public Radio, who wrote:
“However, the House Majority PAC/AFSCME ad goes too far because Mills’ comments are strung together out of order and out of context, and because the ending portrays him as offended at having to pay his fair share. But in the full context of the speech, Mills is offended at being called a “deadbeat” in spite of the jobs and other community benefits that stem from his company.
“As a result, the ad is misleading.”
