Ice cold
When both the San Francisco Chronicle and longtime Democratic strategists are throwing cold water on your breathless spin, maybe it’s time to take a step back and reassess.
The DCCC’s bold claims of targeting nine Republican seats in California were brought back down to reality by the Chronicle in an article calling these predictions “wishful thinking” and “a bit optimistic.”
Longtime Democratic strategist Darry Sragow piled on, saying: “It’s going to be very difficult for the Democrats to pick up one or more seats.”
The uncomfortable reality for Democrats is: they can’t come close to winning back the majority without significant gains in California. With that in doubt, Democrats are scrambling to manufacture a narrative about building momentum… but even their fellow Democrats aren’t buying it.
