8,765 jobs
8,765 Nevada jobs.
That’s how many Ruben Kihuen left on the table with his vote against the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act today.
According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, not only will the bill create 8,765 Nevada jobs, it will raise after-tax income for middle class Nevada families by $2,439.
The bill will also benefit Nevada’s Fourth Congressional District in the following ways:
- Expand the Child Tax Credit, claimed by 57,845 taxpayers
- Grant tax relief for small businesses, benefiting 42,520 taxpayers with small business income
- Eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax affecting 2,110 taxpayers
- Simplify the tax code for 76,864 taxpayers who itemize their taxes
“While the House moves forward with historic, job-creating tax reform, Ruben Kihuen is choosing to leave his constituents behind. Kihuen’s continued insistence on putting obedience to Nancy Pelosi before his own constituents’ jobs and paychecks is shameful, and he will be held accountable for it at the ballot box.” -NRCC Spokesman Jack Pandol
