NRCC’s John Rogers On Schumer Shutdown: Democrats Are Playing Politics, Americans Will See Right Through It

Today, NRCC Executive Director John Rogers joined Fox News’ Dana Perino to discuss the political implications of the Schumer Shutdown and how Democrats put political posturing ahead of soldiers’ pay and 9 million children’s health care.

NRCC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOHN ROGERS: Yeah, that’s exactly right. And I think that we should all be dealing with facts here, which are that the House and Senate Democrats voted to shut down the government over something that had nothing to do with keeping the government open in the first place. They put millions of soldiers and children in harm’s way over an immigration deal that doesn’t expire until March, so they had plenty of time to negotiate that. They were, in fact, in the middle of negotiations when all this happened. It’s still January. So, you know, why they decided and chose to, you know, play politics with millions of children and soldiers is just far beyond me. And I think the American people are going to see right through that.
