Following Democrats’ freakout over large, unmanageable primary fields – ABC News reports the state Democratic party is putting its thumb on the scale to support Kim Schrier in Washington’s Eighth District.

Candidate Chris Franco, who recently dropped out of the race, said one party official said they would be “personally insulted” and “wouldn’t make any friends” if he filed for office.

Shannon Hader echoed Franco, saying a party official scolded her for not calling “a year in advance” to ask for permission to run.
