this is becoming really pathetic
In case you missed it, the establishment is swooping in to try and save Jennifer Wexton’s failing primary bid. Governor Ralph Northam endorsed Wexton, in the latest desperate attempt to make her relevant.
As you can imagine, this is not playing well with supporters of the other candidates, who are already comparing Wexton to John Foust – who lost to Barbara Comstock after making a sexist remark. Side note: Jennifer Wexton said at the time that she didn’t find Foust’s comment offensive.
The story of Jennifer Wexton’s campaign has been truly pathetic:
- The DCCC publicly coronates her as she enters the race
- She comes in 4th in fundraising in the Democratic primary
- The DCCC backtracks
- Establishment to the rescue?
Not to mention that Wexton has a decision to make – does she follow the lead of other Democratic candidates across the country and abandon Nancy Pelosi? Or will she stick right by her side in every policy matter and photo-op?
