Shot: After Gil Cisneros was battered for weeks with allegations of sexual harassment and leaving a threatening voicemail for an opponent’s wife, California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman brokered a ceasefire agreement.

Chaser: The DCCC intervenes in the CA-39 primary anyway, going up with a new positive ad today propping up Cisneros after weeks of attacks.

It seems hard to believe Andy Thorburn would agree to a ceasefire with knowledge the DCCC was riding to Cisneros’ rescue with a new ad flight.

A month ago, Thorburn promised to “come back guns blazing” if the DCCC tried to meddle in the Democratic primary. Will he follow through?
