The Pelosi Problem: Part II

Last week, we began our two-part series on The Pelosi Problem, a growing issue for the Democratic Party. We recapped when Nancy’s woes began, and how she quickly lost supporters within her party, setting a dreadful scene for the Minority Leader.

Just when things looked like they couldn’t get worse, Conor Lamb happened. The DINO won his election by looking, sounding, and acting like a Republican—wielding an AR-15, supporting Donald Trump’s tariffs, and renouncing Nancy Pelosi’s leadership. This triggered a trend among Democratic candidates: running on an anti-Pelosi platform. Dozens of Democratic candidates across the nation have said they would not vote for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker given the opportunity.

The problem there? In May, Pelosi vowed, “We will win. I will run for Speaker.”

And now, this: the fourth-highest-ranking House Democrat Joe Crowley lost his primary election last month against an insurgent socialist. 28 year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez embodies the new age of the Democratic Party. Extremists such as Ocasio-Cortez rally behind far-left policies like single-payer health care and abolishing ICE, and want nothing more than for Nancy Pelosi’s downfall to be on their watch. The party of Pelosi can no longer resist this radical uprising of progressives.

The Pelosi Problem is this: Nancy Pelosi is the captain of a sinking ship, which she single-handedly steered into an iceberg. Her once-loyal crewmates are jumping ship left and right as she charges full-speed-ahead into destruction, refusing to let anyone near the helm. Ultimately, Democrats’ titanic problem will be what sinks them.
