Even one of the most unpopular Democrats in Southern California thinks Gil Cisneros is toxic.

While campaigning for Cisneros over the weekend, ex-Sen. Josh Newman – who was recalled by 20 points over his support for the toxic California gas tax – warned volunteers that “Gil’s negatives are ‘sky-high,’” according to National Journal.

Aside from the wisdom of repeatedly campaigning alongside an extremely unpopular figure like Newman, with Cisneros’ blundering campaign and incoherent message it’s no wonder even Democrats acknowledge his image is in the dumpster.

Turns out moving from his ritzy mansion in Newport Beach to buy a seat in Congress may not turn out the way Gil hoped…
