Katie Hill doesn’t believe Mueller Report
After House Democrats waited with bated breath for the Mueller Report, they were heartbroken to learn that Mueller said he did not find any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Katie Hill, who is the Vice Chair of the House Oversight Committee, told CNN today she doesn’t believe the Mueller report and thinks there is “highly suspicious” information that wasn’t covered in the report.
Is Katie Hill now a conspiracy theorist? Or is she just throwing a fit because Mueller didn’t recommend impeaching the President of the United States and now she doesn’t have an excuse to do it?

While Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on possible links between Russia and President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign failed to yield evidence of collusion, Rep. Katie Hill (D-Calif.) told CNN on Tuesday morning that the House has sufficient “highly suspicious” information to continue its own investigations into the president and maintained that Democratic lawmakers who publicly deemed him guilty prior to the report’s release should not need to apologize.
“Now we have to say, OK, fine, he didn’t directly coordinate with Russia moving forward, but now we have evidence over the last two years that the Mueller investigation was not covering that is highly, highly suspicious,” Hill said during an appearance on CNN’s show, “New Day.”
Hill sits on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which, according to the representative, has launched multiple investigations into the president’s administration on issues that were not fully examined in the Mueller report, including White House security clearance policies, family separations at the southern border and alleged sharing of nuclear information with Saudi Arabia.
“There’s so many issues that we’ve got to continue our investigations on and it’s just not related to the Mueller report,” she said.
Hill noted that since her committee has been pursuing inquiries into the president separate from that undertaken by the special counsel, Mueller’s report will have little effect on the trajectory of their own investigation. She also said that the committee will also continue its work on non-Trump related oversights, such as healthcare and prescription drug prices.
“We haven’t been waiting on the Mueller report to do our job,” she said.
In response to comments from Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who has called on Democrats to apologize to the president, Hill argued that Democratic representatives who publicly insisted that Trump was guilty of collusion before the Mueller report was finalized — including Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) — should not need to offer an apology.
“I wouldn’t say that they need to apologize,” Hill said. “I think that they’re still stating things that happened in plain sight.”
Hill went on to claim that the legal definition of collusion is “completely nebulous.”
Mueller filed his report with the Department of Justice on Friday afternoon, and the decision to release its contents to the public is now the prerogative of Attorney General William Barr. In a letter to Congress made public on Sunday afternoon, Barr wrote that while the Mueller Report does not substantiate a collusive link between Trump and the Kremlin, it also does not fully exonerate the president on possible charges of obstruction of justice.
Hill joined many of her fellow Democrats in demanding that Barr release the full contents of the report, rather than just the attenuated letter, in a tweet sent Tuesday evening.
“I urge AG Barr to #ReleaseTheReport,” she said in the tweet. “A summary is not enough – the American people deserve to see the truth.”
