Horn betrays energy workers
Accidental Congresswoman Kendra Horn continues to prove she has no interest in representing the people of Oklahoma.
A front page story in Sunday’s edition of The Oklahoman details how Horn has broken from longstanding bipartisan tradition and betrayed the state’s energy industry, which employs nearly 100,000 workers.
By siding with socialist Democrat activists over her constituents, Horn is making what was already a slim chance of reelection even more remote.
Some highlights from the story:
In a series of recent votes, freshman U.S. Rep. Kendra Horn broke with the longstanding practice of Oklahoma lawmakers from both parties voting to open more public land to oil and gas exploration.

While Oklahoma Republicans have been reliable backers of domestic energy producers’ agenda in Congress, the last few Democrats from the state have also been supportive.

Horn represents a district that includes some of the largest independent oil and gas production companies in the country, including Devon Energy, Continental Resources and Chesapeake Energy.
Chad Warmington, president of the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma, said, “It’s disheartening that someone who represents the heart of American oil and natural gas development is siding with those who would put our nation’s economy and security at risk by voting to stop the responsible development of affordable American energy.”
