Jared Golden opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “I’ve been very clear: I’m not going to support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. I’ve said it again and again. I don’t support her agenda.”

Kathleen Rice opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “we need a winning strategy and I think the first step to getting to a winning strategy is a change in leadership.”

Elissa Slotkin opposed Pelosi in 2018 because she promised not to vote for her and “felt it was important to stick to her integrity for her very first vote.”
Abigail Spanberger opposed Pelosi in 2018 because “under no circumstances, would I vote for Nancy Pelosi to again be Speaker of the House.”
Jim Cooper opposed Pelosi in 2018 because it was “consistent with my eight year push for new Democratic leadership.”
