Tom O’Halleran flip flops on protections for police officers… again

March 4, 2021

When it comes to keeping communities safe, you’d think former Chicago police officer Tom O’Halleran would understand the importance of qualified immunity for law enforcement.

In fact, O’Halleran told Politico last week that police chiefs in his district had issues with the provision in Democrats’ “police reform” bill that eliminates qualified immunity.

But, O’Halleran voted for the bill anyway, and even voted against condemning the Defund the Police movement.

NRCC Comment: “Tom O’Halleran ignored the concerns of law enforcement in his own district and sold them out to the socialist left.” — NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
