Rep. Gonzalez won’t disclose why he had account with Bank of China
March 11, 2021
Vicente Gonzalez’s office has finally commented to both NBC San Antonio and the Texas Tribune on his bank account with the Bank of China, a Chinese state-run bank, but his office still won’t disclose why he had the account in the first place.
There are three Bank of China branches in the United States, none of which are in Texas.
Gonzalez’s account with the Bank of China was yielding higher interest than any of his other investments.
Why won’t Gonzalez comment on why he, a sitting congressman, has a bank account with a Chinese state-run bank? Or why he closed it since he was making thousands from it?
