For those who are new to this issue, here are some facts you need to know about the race in Iowa’s Second Congressional District:

• After an initial canvass, Mariannette Miller-Meeks won the race in Iowa’s Second Congressional District.

• Rita Hart asked for a recount across all 24 counties in the district. Miller-Meeks prevailed again.

• After the initial canvass and a recount, a unanimous vote by the bipartisan State Canvassing Board certified Miller-Meeks as the winner.

• Rita Hart elected not to use the appeal process available through Iowa’s courts, because she knew she would lose again.

• Instead, Hart asked the Democrat-controlled United States House of Representatives to overturn state-certified results of the election.

• The Des Moines Register Editorial Board condemned Hart’s attempt to subvert the will of Iowa voters.

• Nancy Pelosi opened the door yesterday to overturning the results of the election.

• The last time Democrats stole an election like this it helped lead to a Republican takeover of the House.
