When the American Rescue Plan passed, Lizzie Fletcher, Vicente Gonzalez, Henry Cuellar and Colin Allred promised that that “help is here for small businesses and working families.”

Instead, the United States posted the biggest jobs report miss in 23 years because it turns out when you pay people not to work, they don’t work, and businesses suffer.

Hugman’s Oasis in San Antonio is a perfect example. It’s a tiki bar which had to cancel reservations because the bar couldn’t hire enough workers.

Some disappointed folks even had to cancel hotel reservations because they were traveling from out of town to visit the bar.

Hugman’s Oasis’ beverage director said: “Due to staff shortages nationwide we are unable to reserve tables at this moment in time.”
