#BidenBorderCrisis: Vol. 76
The U.S.-Mexico land border remains closed to vaccinated Mexican tourists as COVID cases spike among detained migrants who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.
Texas border counties are inundated with thousands of illegal migrants crossing the border every day, but President Biden won’t open the land border for legal travel so these border communities can economically survive.
The Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University estimates Texas border counties will lose $4.9 billion in total GDP from Mexican tourists and shoppers being unable to cross the border, equating to 6.1% of total GDP.
