NEW: FEC complaint submitted against Rudy Salas

The story of Rudy Salas’ sloppy, duct-taped campaign signs will never end. 

FACT, a non-partisan ethics watchdog group, has submitted a complaint to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) seeking an investigation into whether Salas misused campaign funds when he cut up, duct-taped and reused his California State Assembly campaign signs for his congressional bid. 

From FACT: “Federal law prohibits candidates running for federal office from using or transferring funds or assets from a state campaign. This prohibition stems from the fact that federal law does not apply to state campaigns, and thus state campaign funds and assets are not subject to federal law’s limits on contributions or reporting requirements.”
