O’Halleran’s secret heating tax

Arizonans’ higher heating bills are about to get even worse thanks to Tom O’Halleran.

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board writes, “The House passed what it calls a “fee” on methane that amounts to a stealth tax on natural gas and everyone who uses it… Producers will naturally pass the cost of the tax along to customers… This is also a regressive tax that hurts low-income families without a financial cushion.”

A recent NRCC poll found 76% of voters in battleground districts say they are more likely to oppose Democrats’ “Build Back Better” spending spree knowing it imposes a natural gas tax that will “increase home heating costs, electricity rates, and raise gas prices.”
