Crooked Carl makes it official

Carl Marlinga is officially running for Congress despite the Michigan Constitution explicitly stating “[a]ny justice or judge of a court of record shall be ineligible to be nominated for or elected to an elective office other than a judicial officer during the period of his services and for one year thereafter.”

Marlinga is best known for being indicted “on charges he helped a convicted rapist win a new trial in exchange for contributions to his 2002 run for Congress.”
