SoCal gas prices still rising

March 23, 2022

While gas prices are beginning to decline across the country, they’re still on the rise in California – even reaching a record $6 a gallon average in Los Angeles.

Why?

  • “California’s high emission standards require a cleaner, more expensive mix of gas, which refineries outside of the state aren’t necessarily producing on a regular basis,” according to the Bay Area News Group.
  • The publication also reported California has “higher taxes for environmental regulations and infrastructure.”

And what are Katie Porter and Mike Levin doing about it?

Voting for more of the same.

NRCC COMMENT: “Katie Porter and Mike Levin don’t want the price of gas to decrease, they want to make it even more unaffordable.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
