NYT: Dems head for the lifeboats
The New York Times reports “the collective mood of Democratic insiders has darkened appreciably in recent weeks. Pollsters and prognosticators are forecasting increasingly dire results for their party in the November midterm elections.”
Democrats in competitive races are now desperately trying to distance themselves from the Biden Administration’s toxic immigration policies despite the fact that they’ve voted for his agenda 100% of the time.
NYT: “What you’re seeing is people feeling like it’s time to head for the lifeboats rather than trying to steer the ship,” said Robert Gibbs, a former White House press secretary who worked under Barack Obama.
NRCC Comment: “Democrats in competitive races are going to own Joe Biden’s record of soaring inflation, rising crime, and open borders because they vote with him 100% of the time. A strongly worded press release isn’t going to change that.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Berg
PS: White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain seems to have given up on the midterms, and is now tweeting about the possibility that Joe Biden could get reelected with a 36% approval rating.
