WFP rescinds Maloney endorsement, endorses Biaggi

Sean Patrick Maloney is losing the progressives.

Politico reports the Working Families Party is switching its endorsement from Sean Patrick Maloney to his progressive primary challenger, State Sen. Alessandra Biaggi.

WFP state director Sochie Nnaemeka took a subtle shot at Maloney, saying, “We need candidates who are going to excite and mobilize the base and fight for the heart of the Democratic Party. Before we turn our attention to red to blue seats or fending off Republicans in the general, we want to make sure we have the strongest candidates.”
