Crooked Cartwright filmed ad for top donor in congressional office

In a potential ethics violation and possible illegal move, Matt Cartwright appeared in a commercial for a top donor’s law firm that appeared on national television.

Axios reports Cartwright filmed an ad in his own congressional office about an issue the lawyer, Jerry Parker, has pushed him to take on for as long as Parker and his wife have been max donors to Cartwright’s campaign.

Members of Congress are prohibited from using official resources to promote commercial endeavors, which is likely why Cartwright sent a belated cease an desist letter about the ad (that was filmed direct-to-camera in his own office).
