Golden’s inflation crisis hits the Maine housing market

Homeownership is getting less affordable in Maine thanks to high real estate prices, climbing mortgage rates, and inflation.

Maine homebuyers are spending 29-48% of their annual wages to afford a mortgage for a median-priced home compared to 30% nationwide – and house prices are outpacing salary raises in the state.
