Former NY Dem Party executive director sounds alarm on NY-17 & NY-19

Basil Smikle, the former executive director for the New York State Democratic Party, says polling showing a GOP surge in New York is “concerning.”

Smikle notes that with crime as a “salient” issue for voters of both parties and Democrats facing national headwinds, Sean Patrick Maloney and Josh Riley’s races “should concern Democrats.”

He said that “those two races should not be as close as they are forecast to be.”
