Spanberger must reject foreign money benefitting her campaign

Abigail Spanberger says she opposes dark money, but she received support from foreign billionaire Hansjörg Wyss laundered through an opaque web of dark money vehicles.

AP reported today on how Wyss’ foreign dark money network, which paid for TV ads benefitting Abigail Spanberger, skirts the ban on foreign money in campaigns.

Spanberger said “if dollars are flowing into a campaign, people should know where it’s coming from.” Yet, Spanberger benefitted from Wyss’ foreign influence. 

“Abigail Spanberger is a liar and a hypocrite bankrolled by a foreign billionaire’s dark money conspiracy. Spanberger must reject the foreign dark money used to prop up her political campaign or be complicit in this perversion of the law.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
