Defense of anti-Semites follows Jeffries to Israel
Bigot Hakeem Jeffries may have left the country, but his defense of anti-Semites followed him all the way to Israel:
From Haaretz. the longest running newspaper currently in print in Israel:
“CNN revealed that he publicly defended his uncle, City College in New York professor Leonard Jeffries, in the 1990s after he made antisemitic comments about Jews’ role in the African slave trade and Jewish executives in Hollywood disparaging Black Americans.
While Jeffries originally claimed his parents shielded him from the controversy and that he only held a vague recollection of the events, Jeffries in fact wrote a piece in a Binghamton University newspaper accusing his uncle and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan of being smeared by character assassinations. The Republican Jewish Coalition demanded Jeffries provide the Jewish community with an explanation.
Jewish Democrats, meanwhile, have rallied behind Jeffries, noting his long-standing record on opposing domestic antisemitism and support for Israel.”
NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert said: “Hakeem Jeffries’ bigoted comments are unacceptable in any country – and now the Israeli press is taking notice. Any House Democrat who refuses to disavow Jeffries’ disgusting words will labeled as a supporter of his defense of anti-Semites.”
