TWO WEEKS of Gabe Vasquez being silent
Gabe Vasquez has remained silent on the Navajo Nation being ignored by the Biden administration in the creation of a new rule to limit oil and gas activity around Chaco Canyon for the next 20 years.
Prior to the announcement, Vasquez was quick to applaud the decision, but since then he has refused to address the issue or any of the fallout.
1️⃣ First, it was revealed Deb Haaland may have used her position for the private gain of her family by restricting oil and gas drilling in New Mexico.
2️⃣ Then, the Navajo Nation president and speaker said they are “disappointed” in the decision and that thousands of allotment owners will face financial and economic losses.
3️⃣ Next, the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association called out the Biden administration for failing “to talk with and recognize the voices of the Navajo Nation.”
4️⃣ Finally, a group of Navajo Nation citizens blocked two top Biden administration officials from crossing into their territory for their celebration event for the oil leasing ban.
So why is Gabe Vasquez silent?
“Gabe Vasquez’s promises to deliver results for his people are shallow. His silence on this entire issue is deeply concerning and in 2024, the people of New Mexico will remember he was nowhere to be found when they needed him most.” — NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
P.S. – Vasquez had time to practice and play in the Congressional Baseball Game last week, but not enough time to deal with this crisis.
