School grades plummeted as Kim Schrier put teachers’ unions first
June 21, 2023
Endless COVID lockdowns, which extreme House Democrats like Kim Schrier supported, pummeled middle and elementary school test scores, “demonstrating the far-reaching effects of education changes during the pandemic” according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress.
Inside the numbers:
- The decline in math scores last year was the biggest in the past 50 years.
- The lowest-performing students scored at levels last recorded in the 1970s, when the assessment began.
- Scores declined among all racial and ethnic groups, among both male and female students and across urban, suburban and rural areas.
While Washington children were falling behind, Kim Schrier took over $20,000 in 2022 from teachers’ unions that were keeping schools closed.
“The cost of Kim Schrier’s obedience was cheap for the corrupt teachers’ unions. But the price for Washington’s children may mean the American Dream is even further out of reach.” – NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen
