Axios poll: Latinos’ slow drift from Dems

June 22, 2023

Axios is delivering good news for Republicans in districts with big Hispanic populations, like Monica De La Cruz, whose district is 79% Hispanic.

This shift is bad news for Texas Democrats. In TX-15, De La Cruz is the first Republican to represent the district since its creation in 1903, and this trend in Hispanic voters predicts a bright future for the state’s Republicans.

Across the board, Hispanics “give Republicans an edge in handling the economy,” which is no surprise as Bidenflation continues to hurt Texas families.

“For years, the Texas Democrat Party has taken Hispanic voters for granted by ignoring the issues that are most important to them. Under Biden’s failing economy, Monica De La Cruz and Texas Republicans have a clear edge with Hispanics going into 2024.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
