ICYMI: Kaptur outraised by GOP challenger
Marcy Kaptur got off to a weak start fundraising this year, and followed up her terrible Q1 by getting outraised in the second quarter by former State Rep. Craig Riedel.
Kaptur, a Democrat who’s been in office since M*A*S*H went off the air, was outraised by Riedel $537,000 to $360,000, raising significant speculation regarding Kaptur’s commitment to the job.
After 40 years in office, Kaptur’s achievements remain non-existent and her campaign coffers are squeezed. It’s time for Kaptur to finally retire, and maybe pickup day-trading.
Former State Representative Outraises Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in Second Quarter Fundraising for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District

Former State Representative from Defiance and current candidate for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District in 2024, Craig Riedel outraised U.S. Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (D-OH-09), who is currently in that seat.
According to Riedel, he took in $537,951 in the second quarter of fundraising compared to Kaptur’s $360,540, a difference of $177,411.
A spokesperson for Riedel (pictured above, right) told The Ohio Star that with this funding and continued support from the community, Riedel is confident in his ability to unseat Kaptur, who is currently serving her 21st term in Congress.
